William H. Corgan joined the office of Weisensell, Mastrantonio and Niese, LLP in August of 2021. Before moving his office there, he was with the firm of Emershaw, Mushkat & Schneier where he worked with George Emershaw focusing on personal injury litigation.
Corgan began working as a law clerk and paralegal for Emershaw when he was 18 years old, after Corgan graduated from High School. He attended The University of Akron and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and then continued at Akron for his law degree. After graduating from the University of Akron School of Law in 2001, Corgan became “of counsel” at Emershaw’s firm.
In addition to personal injury law, Corgan went on to represent individuals and small businesses in the areas of Criminal Defense, Foreclosures, Wills and Estate planning, Probate, Business Law, Property, Contracts, Entertainment Law, Eminent Domain, Storm Water Runoff, Defamation and matters before the State Medical, Nursing and Election Boards.
He has been licensed in Ohio since 2001. Corgan has also been admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio. He is a member of the Akron Bar Association and currently serves on its Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee and is a member of the Summit County Association for Justice.
Corgan is also a musician and songwriter playing bass guitar and the five-string banjo. He has managed his own band, which included booking nationwide tours, marketing, and copyright filing. He likes working with his hands whether it be on his car or home appliances, or home repair.
He often says, “The best thing about being a lawyer, is being able to help people work out their problems.”
He is married to fellow Akron attorney Jacquenette S. Corgan.
